Help with repairing an capcom arcade CPS-2 machine.?
First off I would like everyone to know that I do not really know what I am doing. I'm looking into buying a broken arcade machine. X-men Children of the Atom to be exact. I read about the CPS-2 system and after reading the description of the arcade itself I am thinking that maybe the battery killed the machine. Which is probably why it does not work.
So the first thing is, will capcom help me repair the CPS-2 system itself? I read somewhere that they will repair it for a small fee and shipping. Although that was many years ago.
Also I need to buy a power cord for the thing. Any type of help or experience would be very helpful.
Answer:
1. NO capcom will not help you. You will need to find someone willing to trade you boards + cost or do the work for you. The battery kill wipes the eproms and they will need to be restored.
2. The power cord? Power supply, can be purchased on eBay sometimes, also Happs.com.
3. BE CAREFUL HIGH VOLTAGE IS FOUND WITHIN THE CABINET! KEEP CLEAR OF THE MONITOR!! AGAIN BE CAREFUL!!
