Frequently Asked Questions...
help photoshopping this type of speaker?
http://www.jukeboxlondon.co.uk/images/AMi_I.jpg
the speaker part on the bottom of the jukebox. I want to copy that, can anyone help me on how i would go about doing that? thanks
ha, that would be easier but I wanted to recreate it from scratch though
Answer:
Do you want to draw it and use the photo as a template, a model?
In that case, open the jukebox photo. You'll see it listed over in the Layers Palette as "Background". Make a new layer which will appear above the jukebox. The new layer can be transparent or white, your choice. See "Opacity" up at the top of the Layers Palette? Click on it and a slider appears. Lower the opacity of the new layer just until you can see the jukebox that's underneath it.
Unless you have a big monitor, you'll have to zoom in to sketch/draw the details. Pick your favorite drawing tool and begin drawing. You'll want to bring the Opacity up to 100% every once and a while to check your work. Also, be sure to check the Layers Palette to make sure you're still drawing on the top layer and not on the jukebox photo.
When you're done, click on Opacity again and bring it up to 100% to see your drawing. Drag the original jukebox photo to the trashcan and only your drawing will be left. Go to File>Save As to save with a new name so you don't destroy the original jukebox photo.
Hope this helps.
