Hosting a disco party is a one-way ticket to funky town

It's the middle of the summer and for some, the days are beginning to blend together. The combination of oppressive heat and humidity with the rigors of everyday life can leave many people in need of some excitement. Hosting a disco-themed party while singing along with some Gloria Gaynor can be the perfect way for your friends and family to boogie their way out of the summer doldrums.
Your guests will need to get the skinny on your party in a unique and exciting fashion, so be sure to go all out when it comes to sending out invitations. A great idea would be to use ones that are made to look like an invite to an exclusive 70s night club. Including images of a disco ball and dancers decked out in bell bottoms and platform shoes will have your prospective guests thinking they'll be attending a party straight out of Saturday Night Fever.
There are few periods in time that had more elaborate decorations and fashion than the disco era. From the bright lights to the flamboyant clothing, your shindig will certainly have to reflect the extravagant nature of the 70s. One decoration that is a must is a disco ball. These iconic, sparkling spheres will be a fantastic way to create the disco atmosphere. Another addition that your guests are sure to dig would be to affix life size dancer add-ons to your walls.
